Teachers should choose a sample essay to use based on what they are trying to accomplish with the class and how the information is being used.First and foremost, teachers should use these resources as a resource to help them teach a specific topic. Students who have not taken the time to learn all of the important aspects of a topic should not be assigned this form of teaching. Again, the best use of a sample is to provide a quick introduction to the topic. Students who have mastered the material, learn the materials well, but have not yet mastered the resources, can then be used as a supplemental lesson that will help them better learn the material.When reading a resource for teaching a specific topic, a teacher should read the resource carefully, rather than looking at it as a means to help prepare students for a different topic. Some students are not interested in learning how to write, for example. Although the specific use of a resource may be acceptable, the use of a resource in the general education class is counterproductive. Using a resource in the class for general education purposes is appropriate, but using it to assist in preparing for a specific class is inappropriate.Using a sample essay as a resource can be very useful in teaching the student how to write an essay for a specific purpose. Teachers can use this as away to guide the student through the first dra ft of the essay. Writing this type of assignment will also provide the student with a basic understanding of the subject matter that will allow him or her to take the assignment further in the future.To use a sample essay as a way to supplement a class in a general education class is inappropriate because the student will not be taking the course for learning. Again, using a resource as a supplement to a course in general education is appropriate, but using it to prepare for the specific class is inappropriate.As teachers, it is our responsibility to develop an education program that is beneficial to the student.
